Ben's Wish To Walk Appeal 2010/2011 |

Well we are planning to have Ben keep a weekly record of his daily life on this page (with a little help from Mum & Dad), so you can really get to know all about him. Sunday 18th July 2010 A personal note from Charlotte ~ Ben's mum 9 Years ago today ~ my life changed forever. My very brave & determined little chap arrived into this world 10 weeks early. Every day he has had to fight through the many challenges he faces daily ~ this is however never stopped his wonderful sense of humour and relentless smile and his shear determination to do all he puts his mind to. We have had a challenging 9 years so far with a lot of ups and downs, but as always Ben take it in his stride! This next year is going to be one of the hardest for Ben, but I know he will throw himself into it and grab it with both hands. We will get him to America and Dr Park & his wonderful team and hopefully change his life ~ and give him the independence he so deserves. We love you so very much Ben ~ You a truly amazing. Happy 9th Birthday XXXX (he just said "I can't wait for my other birthday present" ~ when I asked what it was he said "my operation!")
Tuesday 1st June 2010 We have an appointment with Dr M Clarke (Neurologist) at Leeds General Infirmary today to discuss 'any interventions to improve his indepentent mobility and discuss about SDR, whether timing is important and what benefits are likely to be achievable for Ben' in the words of his Paediatrician! Ben has asked if he is going to check if he has a brain! We will keep you posted on his thoughts!
